About This Blog
This blog is maintained by Randy and Michele Samuelson. We mainly use it to keep a record of our travels in and out of Texas, but it's not unlikely that other information will pop up from time to time! We live in Austin and both of us work in politics. We are Christians, and currently attend the Austin Stone Church. We also belong to a dog named Waylon, a playful black Labrador/American bulldog mix. Our mutual interests include road trips, Texas, history, politics, wine, books, and cooking. Randy's into woodworking and home improvement projects, and Michele likes writing and scrapbooking - we are always trying to find more time for these things!
The header image is comprised of the following, from left to right: one of the stars on the gate at the Capitol, pic taken as part of Michele's bridal shots; the Texas flag flying on the community grounds in Round Top, Texas; the Texas School Book Depository in Dallas - that's the sixth floor and the open window was Lee Harvey Oswald's window; one of the Civil War memorials in front of the Texas Capitol. The background show is a view from Mansfield Dam in Austin.
